Ceramic butter dish, handmade on a pottery wheel in my garden workshop. This pattern is called 'Maud',  it is hand painted with a grey pigment onto a white glaze. The speckles come from little flecks of iron within the body of the clay. When the piece fired it creates a lovely effect on the surface of the piece.

This range is made from iron rich stoneware clay. All my pottery is  food-safe, hard-wearing and suitable for microwaves and dishwashers.
 
Each piece is handmade on a pottery wheel and then hand-painted so there may be slight variation in size and colour and there may be very minor imperfections.
